Bradley Cooper is in talks to be the Crow

Jesus!  That's right. According to Deadline anyway.

Face in the A-Team.  Phil in the Hangover.

Yep you heard right.  As you regulars already know Movie Cake has been following the new Crow adaptation closely.

When they say they’re rebooting it they really weren’t shitting about were they?  Having Cooper in the lead role will definitely do a few things.  First, it will likely stop the usual teenage angsty kids drooling over it and claiming it’s theirs and theirs alone.  Second, it will likely help the franchise back on its feet having a credible (yes, I said credible) actor take the lead of the brooding dead avenger.

Cooper has recently showed his lead acting chops in Limitless and he did pretty well doing so.  There is also the fact that Lee is a known actor; the first Crow to actually have a name in Hollywood.  This means that they’re are not planning to make this a straight to DVD movie.  This is Hollywood, baby.

Finally on my excited rant.  In case you haven’t been following the Crow or don’t know who or what the hell I’m talking about, the Crow is an avenger who is brought back from the dead by a mystical crow after he and his fiancé are killed by thugs.   The main character is a rock star in the original graphic novel by James O Barr and was portrayed on screen ironically by Brandon Lee.

The film spawned sequels which were all shit.  Alas, like the Crow avengers themselves it looks like they’ve been revived.  Stay tuned to hear more on these developments.
