Tom Hanks or Hanx as he refers to himself on Twitter has officially signed the deal to star in Cloud Altas. The film will be directed by Wachowski brothers and will be based on the book written by British author David Mitchell (no, not the comedian).
According to Deadline the film will begin to shoot in September will the summery:
An epic story of humankind in which the actions and consequences of our lives impact one another throughout the past, present and future as one soul is shaped from a murderer into a savior and a single act of kindness ripples out for centuries to inspire a revolution.
The novels which the films are based on are initially to reflect how the transition of a persons sould carries on throughout the ages. The lead character witnesses in some way or form, an account of a baron island in the south pacific to a post apocalyptic future.
Not sure what to expect of this. Hank’s is phenomenal at delivering performances that require emotional depth. The Wachowski brothers however haven’t really been successful in the depth department. i.e. the Matrix sequels were too over encumbered with excess plots and stale characters which were voided of exposure to development. And tried to be something it wasn’t.

This could be a redeemer for them . The premise of the film sounds fascinating and the fact they’ve Hanx is a bonus. Movie Cake will be following this one closely.
