Rise of the Planet of the Apes hits theatres August 5th

Now take a deep breath this is a long sentence. Rise of the Planet of the Apes previously titled Rise of the Apes, before then it was Caesar: Rise of the Apes then before than it was just Caesar.

After growing concern that people wouldn’t be familiar with the brand of Planet of the Apes, the play it safe industry of American Blockbuster films has decided to go with the extensive title Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

20th Century Fox marketing team apparently thought it was easier for fans to associate with the previous 5 Apes films.

Directed by Rupert Wyatt, the sci-fi action adventure stars James Franco, John Lithgow, Freida Pinto, Andy Serkis, Brian Cox, Tom Felton and David Oyelowo. It opens in theaters on August 5.

Oscar-winning visual effects house Weta Digital – employing certain of the groundbreaking technologies developed for Avatar – have rendered, for the first time ever in the film series, photo-realistic apes rather than costumed actors. According to Comingsoon.net.
