New Superman, New Krypton

Source: Latino Review
Looks familiar? Well it might.  Here is the skyline of planet Corusant, originally seen in a special edition of Star Wars VI in 1997.   This is what Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan are allegedly basing their new Krypton on according to Latino Review.

This will coincide with a whole new fresh image. As mentioned in previous posts, there entire franchise is being face lifted and giving fresh life.  Although unlike superheroes like Spiderman, who’s origin story can really be played with, and can be but in different scenarios and different places the Man of Steel doesn’t really get the privilege.  He’s sent from the planet Krypton.  That’s it.

Although according to Latino Review we should be getting a better look at Krypton, in this Corusant skyline setting.  Also Daniel Day Lewis is currently being rumoured to be playing Jor-El.  If there’s any reason to begin having faith in this movie it would be him.  Sure Nolan is producing but it’s Snyder behind the camera, whose last film was the bomb Suckerpunch (hot girls and interesting visuals only get you so far).

The new movie will also have Zod’s right hand villainess bad-ass Faora who was called Ursa in Superman I & II.  Zod and Faora are both prisoners of Krypton out in space in a glass prison while it is blowing up (the Superman series in renowned for producing people who happen to be away from Kypton at the time of its explosion to give Superman some competition.... They’re usually quickly forgotten).

Casting so far is Brit Henry Cavil as the Man of Steel himself, Amy Adams as Louis Lane, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Kevin Costner as the Jonathon Kent and Michale Shannon as General Zod.  It was Diane Lane who let spill most details about the story being back on Krypton after a script read.

However it was a source which Latino Review has that found out about Shannon as Zod, and this latest rumour, which likely due to being the same source, will be true.
